Fees and Costs

We often get emails and telephone requests asking what a particular procedure costs. We are happy to give a very rough estimate but these can be very misleading. Without taking X-Rays and having an actual look at the problem, as well as looking around the rest of the mouth, it is not possible to give a cost for treatment. The treatment requested may not even need doing.

Is a cheap job what you really want anyway?

Let's face it there is nothing that cannot be done a little worse for a little less money. Sadly Dental Treatment is an irreversible procedure and damage will be done by inappropriate treatment.

Overheads in Dental Practices are very high and remarkably similar in each region. There is a price below which the job cannot be done properly. The consumer should be very wary of "free offers", you will end up paying somewhere along the line either in cheaper materials which don't last or in over treatment which did not need doing.

Surely what you want is an honest job done at a fair price.

There is more than a dollar cost to Dentistry, there is the time, the discomfort... there is nothing worse than having the work redone.

When people try to compare prices for Dental Treatment they are never comparing apples with apples. If you are out to buy a Sony TV then it makes sense to buy at the cheapest price, you can compare the model numbers. In Dentistry you have to take into account the skill of the Dentist, the materials used, the time taken and the level of professionalism.
